Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning....look at all the gifts for Ginny. It is amazing all the things that a baby needs or that the mom and grandmother think the baby needs!! Uncle Will and Aunt Kathleen are looking on all the baby loot
Here is a sampling of all the gifts Ginny received. She loves her new lamb.

We had to get clean and pretty for our Christmas dinner, but we were in Dalton and forgot our baby tub. We improvised with a big soup pot. It seemed to get the job, too.

Here is the finished product in her Santa towel.

Ginny enjoyed spending time with all of her family this weekend...especially her new cousins..Katie, Molly, and Will. Thanks for being so sweet to your new cousin! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed spending time with their families this Holiday Season. Wes and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful family and it is such a blessing to be able to spend our first Christmas as parents with them and our beautiful daughter, Ginny!

New Friend

Today we had another busy day...we had a playdate with our sweet friend, Ella. We had lunch, played on the floor, and laughed at each other. I think our moms had a good time, too.
After lunch, Ginny helped me address Christmas cards and posed in front of her stocking. I wonder how Santa will fill it??

Ginny showing off another "fun" outfit. She was dressed for a fun outing of shopping and going with mom to the doctor. Luckily, grandmommy went along to help mom and Ginny. I think by the end of the day she was tired of the bows near her month, but she never complained. They were in the way when she was in her carseat.

Here was our playdate on Tuesday with Ella. The girls have not yet really interacted with each other, but it will not be long. We start a music class together in January.

O' Christmas Tree

We have had a busy week so far...earlier in the week, Ginny and I tried to do an art project and from the pictures you can see what happened. Ginny did not like the paint on her hands....she screamed and screamed when I put paint on her hands and she got the paint all over me, her pajamas, and her hands. The project turned out good in spite of the mess and screaming. Afterwards she was ready for a much needed break and nap.

We decided to get our tree this weekend. This a picture of Ginny bundled up to help pick out the tree and the picture above it is what I got her stroller stuck in. The nice man had to cut it away from her front wheel. Needless to say after that, we were both sent to the car.

Here is the finished product...Ginny and the tree. She is dressed for a Christmas party that we had at the house today and she is going to another one tomorrow. Also, another first this week....lunch out with a friend and a playdate at the house. We have two more playdates scheduled and hopefully more lunch dates, too. She did great at all of her events!! We are really getting into the Christmas Spirit here at the Hackeny House!

Dress Up

Over the past few days we have been playing dress up. Ginny has been trying on some of her Christmas attire and another fancy dress. The pink and white dress was her mom's when she was a little girl.
Today we went for our 1 month check up and Ginny is very a "very healthy" baby. She ranks in the 97th percentile in both height and weight. She weighed in at 11 lbs and 14 oz and was 23 1/2 inches long. The doctor said the she should be sleeping through the night very soon!!! She was only up once last night. I can't believe that she is already a month old. Tomorrow she will be 5 weeks. The time is just flying by, but I am so lucky to be able to spend this time with her and especially during this special and festive season.
Hope everyone is getting in the Christmas Spirit!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Ginny dressed in her Thanksgiving outfit that Mrs. Ruth Lee made for her. She is doing her stretches after a big meal!
The whole gang went on a stroll after stuffing our faces with turkey and all the fixings!! Ginny slept through her stroll, but her mom, dad, grandparents, and aunt all enjoyed getting some fresh air.

The happy family at our first Thanksgiving!!

Week 3

This was a big week for mommy and Ginny. We both went to the doctor and got good reports from both. I was cleared to drive...which was wonderful. I am now able to run errands and get out of the house. Ginny also saw the doctor and she told us that Ginny is doing great and growing!! She is already over 9 pounds...what a great eater. We had to bundle her up to get her out in the cold for her two big outings. It took almost 2 hours to get her ready, bags packed, and myself ready to leave the house this week. I was glad my mom was there to help me. We plan to have a relaxing weekend and a few friends are coming by to meet Miss Ginny!

First Two Weeks at Home

These first two weeks have been busy for Ginny. She had her first stroller ride..and slept through all of it. She had her first bath and loved it. It is amazing that it can take up to 3 grown adults to give a baby a bath. We dressed Ginny in her Halloween outfit and put her next to the pumpkins...since she was a Halloween Treat! The other two pictures show mom and dad enjoying their new role as parents. Everyone is adjusting well...and can't believe that two weeks have already passed! It goes very quickly.

Welcome Home, Ginny!

Here is Miss Ginny all dressed and ready for her first car ride. She is wearing a dress that her Aunt Betty made for her. She looked just like a princess all dressed in pink.
Macie, Wes, and Ginny leaving the hospital and going home.

The new family at home. Ginny did great on her first car ride. She slept the whole way! She loved her carseat and daddy did a great job of driving us home safely.

Ginny and mom entering the house. We are both excited to be home and begin our life as a family. We are all adjusting well and love being home. Ginny is eating, sleeping, and being a great baby. We are amazed at how a day can go by so quickly just caring for a baby!!

BBQ for BABY HACKNEY

Wes was able to participate in this Baby Shower for Baby Hackney. Our friends in Cartersville hosted a BBQ by the pool to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our newest member! The guys enjoyed football by the pool and the girls ate and opened more gifts for Baby Hackney. The Baby received lots of great new gadgets that we look forward to learning how to use. Thanks to everyone for celebrating this exciting time with us!!

Showered with Friends and Gifts
