Mary Elizabeth Hackney

Mary Elizabeth Hackney "Mary Beth" made her arrival August 20th at 10:05 am. She weighed in at 7 lbs 15oz and 21 inches long. She was a little lighter than her sister, but the length was the same. Here are a few pictures from her first days.
We are adjusting to life at home, but were thrown a curve ball this weekend when Ginny got sick. She has had a fever all weekend, and stayed in Dalton with her grandparents all weekend. They have been great, and we would not have been able to manage these first few days without them! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
First family photo...Ginny was not cooperating too well.

Ready to go home.

At home.

Ginny and Mary Beth meeting for the first time at home. Ginny likes having a baby around, but not sure she really understands that she is her sister.

First Day of School

All of Ginny's "school supplies" before the big day. Her backpack, brownies for the teacher, and in the brown bag...supplies for the teacher.
Today was Ginny's first day of Preschool. She is going 2 days a week while I am on maternity leave. There are only 2 kids in her class, but we are hoping there will be more. Her teacher said that they might work closely with another class. Here are few pictures from the day.

Ginny and her teacher, Ms. Carol.

Ginny went right to work when she got there, no tears!!! She loved the kitchen and the baby dolls.

Ready for school...does not look too happy, but seemed to love it once she got there.

Practicing wearing the backpack early this morning.

Yesterday after the "meet and greet" at her school.

Hello!

Here are some random shots. I have not been good about updating the blog, but there has been a lot going on. Summer ending, starting school again, and getting ready for baby #2...who is making an appearance any time!!! Ginny loves "blue" anything, but here she had just finished a blue popsicle. Notice her mouth.
We had some friends for dinner tonight and here are the girls attempting to eat together. Ginny really picked up her food and then went running. She was back and forth all night. Ella was a little more calm with her food.

A shot of the 3 of us before we become a family of 4. Not a great picture, but I was not sure if we had one of the 3 of us in front of our house???

We recently moved Ginny out of her crib into a "big girl" bed and you can see where she sleeps. We tried the bed, but she would rather sleep on her lamb rug on the floor. Not a battle I am going to fight as long as she is sleeping through the night. Sleeping has been a battle all summer. If she is happy, then that is fine with me! One day she will decide to sleep in the bed.
